Anna’s Circa Nineteen Twenties Child Bonnet
My buddy Jamie, shared her treasured child garments with me and allowed me to repeat this candy Bonnet! It was made for Anna Gordon Barrett Kelly in 1920 by her Mom, Virginia
I taught this Bonnet as a category for SAGA
I used a Maline Child Beading as Lace Insertion
No Ribbon woven via.
This Bonnet has three overlapping triangles that make up the Brim. Every triangle is completed with a Lace Insertion and edged with gathered Lace.
They’re embroidered earlier than reducing out, which is way simpler. You possibly can see the Outdated Original Double Featherstitch within the photograph right here, which I really like! I used tender Inexperienced for the stems and leaves and pink for Featherstitching and Rosebuds. Every triangle is accomplished earlier than attaching it to the Bonnet.
A have a look at the decrease edge
The Ribbon Ties had been hooked up on the within of the Bonnet and a fairly Ball Child Button was stitched on the surface. Entredeux was used to complete the neck.
Facet View
This can be a lacy little Bonnet, with gathered Lace Edging throughout the Bonnet, included across the crown on the again. I used Maline Lace which is the Queen of Heirloom Stitching – so lovely. The edging used is 5/8″ huge.
Glad Stitching!
